HIGH-RESOLUTION SATELLITE IMAGERY

L3Harris offers the largest array of commercially available high-resolution satellite imagery options in today's market. With resolutions ranging from 0.3 meters to 1 meter, our high-resolution satellite imagery plays an integral role in a growing number of applications: simulation, engineering, infrastructure, telecommunications, precision agriculture, and disaster recovery.

MEDIUM-RESOLUTION SATELLITE IMAGERY

L3Harris offers medium-resolution satellite imagery options ranging from 1.5 to 5 meters from leading providers such as  and . Each provider has multiple sensors in each satellite constellation, where each satellite captures large areas within a single image. This offers your best chance of finding recent satellite data on your area. You can also draw on our massive archive with full-world coverage dating back to the early 2000s.

LOW-RESOLUTION IMAGERY

LOW-RESOLUTION SATELLITE IMAGERY

L3Harris offers the broadest range of commercially available low-resolution satellite imagery options in today's market, with resolutions ranging from 5 to 15 meters. Low-resolution satellite imagery is a strong foundation for the start of any project, with uses in journalism, media, regional studies, and general research of widespread trends.

L3Harris offers low- to high-resolution satellite imagery and custom satellite mapping services. Our complete end-to-end solutions for your project cover everything from data acquisition to processing and analysis. We have global partnerships with many satellite data suppliers, maintain a vast internal archive of products, and offer flexible licensing options to accommodate your needs.

Our geospatial services comprise:

IMAGE PROCESSING SERVICES

If you need to process low-, medium- or high-resolution satellite imagery, we’ll work with you to meet your project’s cost, coverage, schedule, and quality constraints. Our staff of imagery scientists and analysts have decades of experience in creating products for government and commercial customers.

L3Harris experts can merge multiple satellite imagery sources into a seamless, color- and tonally balanced, georeferenced or orthorectified image file ready for use in any mapping or imaging software.  This offers you customized, unique coverage of your area.

Pan Sharpening

L3Harris experts can sharpen your images by merging the high-resolution panchromatic band with the corresponding coarser-resolution multispectral bands. The result? — a high-resolution color image that retains the spatial detail of the panchromatic source while preserving the radiometric characteristics of the multispectral source.

Environmental factors and atmospheric conditions like haze, fog, glare, and pollution can degrade the quality of satellite imagery and obscure the imagery between the sensor and the ground.  L3Harris can correct these interferences by balancing the color bands and tones of satellite imagery — creating the best version of every image band and delivering the most precise and aesthetically pleasing imagery for your project.

Orthorectification

Even high-resolution satellite imagery starts as raw data. Orthorectification corrects terrain displacement in imagery caused by sensor tilt or off-nadir when capturing the image. This improves the positional accuracy of the imagery and allows users to overlay their current working data with recently acquired satellite imagery for correct alignment.

Since satellites orbit well above our atmosphere, clouds can appear within the captured imagery.  Using multiple overlapping scenes and advanced cutline processing, we can seamlessly patch areas of satellite imagery containing clouds with other cloud-free imagery of the same area, revealing more land surface in the final data.

L3Harris imagery experts can use multiple sources of varying resolutions to create a custom multi-resolution data set over a large area. High-resolution insets of areas of interest are blended to lower resolutions in the surrounding areas, resulting in seamless, large-scale coverage.

CLASSIFICATION SERVICES

Material Classification

We can extract advanced material classification from all multispectral bands available, identifying the two dominant materials and the relative abundance of each material for each pixel in the data set.

Available at the same pixel resolutions and precisely correlated to our TrueTerrain imagery, the material classification data set is ideal for creating various sensor views to accompany out-the-window views within the Simulation Image Generator.

Material classification products can create night vision, IR, and radar visual databases or map high-detail, geotypical textures with real-world accuracy.
