THE LEADING PROVIDER OF HIGH-RESOLUTION SATELLITE IMAGERY

Gain a unique, highly detailed understanding of nearly any place on Earth with our broad selection of high-resolution satellite imagery. Want to enhance your training program with precise, ready-to-use imagery? Need to assess coastal erosion after hurricane season? Government and commercial customers have trusted our comprehensive imagery solutions for decades to help them identify trends, transform site data into action, and accelerate project success. L3Harris also boasts a massive archive of high-resolution satellite imagery from industry leaders such as Maxar, Airbus, and Satrec Imaging that extends to the early 2000s, providing you with a single partner for your most complex geospatial needs.

“L3Harris has enabled Mott MacDonald to test a new innovative geospatial solution that involves complex machine learning to solve a range of infrastructure asset management problems. This solution will aim to extract remotely sensed information from state-of-the-art 8 band WorldView-2 imagery. This test study would not be viable without the help of L3Harris.  —&Բ;Miles Aubrey, Mott MacDonald”

Sensors & Satellites

Pléiades Neo from Airbus Defence and Space

Airbus Defence and Space began launching its newest satellites, Pléiades Neo, in 2020. The two identical satellites in the constellation provide the highest resolution imagery commercially available at 30 cm and the most accurate geolocation at less than 5-meter CE90. The Pléiades satellites exude high performance — from advanced accuracy to reactivity and frequency — and capture comprehensive, high-resolution satellite imagery of objects as small as vehicles. Whether performing site monitoring, change detection analysis, damage assessment, or military missions, clients use these sensors to obtain current and accurate data about their project sites to make better strategic decisions faster.

ʱé-1 from Airbus Defence and Space

The Pleiades 1A sensor — the first commercially available submeter resolution satellite from Airbus Defence and Space — was launched in December 2011. A twin satellite, Pleiades 1B, was launched the following year. Like other .5-meter resolution sensors, these satellites collect panchromatic and RGB & NIR multispectral data. With two satellites in rotation and incomparable agility, the Pleiades sensors are ideal for users wanting to collect new high-resolution satellite imagery of an area for tasks ranging from site monitoring to change detection analysis.

WorldView-4 from Maxar

Maxar's WorldView-4, previously known as GeoEye-2, was able to discern objects on the Earth's surface as small as 30 cm in the panchromatic and collected 4-band multispectral imagery at 1.24-meter resolution

Flying at 617 kilometers, it captured 680,000 square kilometers of new imagery daily, expanding the market's largest archive of superspectral, high-resolution satellite imagery while offering commercial and government clients critical geospatial insights with map-accurate views of any project site on Earth.

WorldView-3 from Maxar

In addition to providing the highest-resolution imagery commercially available, this WorldView sensor also captures 29 multispectral bands — more than any other sensor on the market. The range in multispectral data makes WorldView-3 imagery ideal for vegetation analysis, bathymetric studies, mineral identification, and geological studies. With 3.7-meter resolution short-wave infrared (SWIR) bands, it provides better contrast between rocks and soil, penetrates cloud cover, and identifies soil and vegetation moisture content — immediately improving user analysis and decision-making.

WorldView-2 from Maxar

Until the arrival of WorldView-3, this sensor was the only commercial satellite available that provided eight multispectral bands. In addition to the standard red, green, and blue (RGB) and near-infrared (NIR) multispectral package, this sensor offers coastal blue, yellow, red edge, and an additional NIR band. WorldView-2 can collect up to 975,000 square kilometers of imagery daily and is one of the top products in Maxar's imagery suite.

WorldView-1 from Maxar

Launched in September 2007, the WorldView-1 sensor boasts one of the largest archives of high-resolution satellite imagery and was the first 0.5-meter resolution sensor on the commercial market. While it only captures panchromatic imagery, this sensor is a great option for historical views of areas and has collected an extensive amount of stereo-pair imagery that can be used to create elevation models.

GeoEye-1 from Maxar

The 2008 launch of the GeoEye-1 satellite introduced the world's most advanced, highest-resolution imagery products to the market. The GeoEye-1 was the first sensor to capture multispectral data with a resolution that reached — and exceeded — 2 meters and panchromatic bands with a resolution up to 0.4 meters. Like the WorldView-1 sensor, this sensor offers users unparalleled access to historical imagery and stereo-pair data.
