The effort, awarded in February 2021, modernizes the ITAF’s airborne mission capability and increases interoperability between the U.S. Air Force and the ITAF.
“Our collaboration with the Italian government will help improve security and stability for our NATO ally,” said Luke Savoie, President, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, L3Harris. “We’re proud to enhance multi-modal mission capabilities for strategic partners across the globe.”
The first two JAMMS aircraft are undergoing modifications at Gulfstream’s Savannah, Georgia facility and will begin the transfer to L3Harris’ Greenville, Texas aircraft modification center later this year.
The JAMMS program is part of L3Harris’ growing portfolio of multi-mission business jet solutions, hosted on a variety of commercial platforms supporting critical global security missions. The company also recently announced its bid to replace the Finnish Border Guard’s turboprop surveillance aircraft with a modern Dassault Falcon 2000, as well as two recent partnerships:
- Teamed with MAG Aerospace to provide enhanced intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft in support of the U.S. Army’s Theater Level High-Altitude Expeditionary Next Airborne ISR Radar program.
- Teamed with Israel Aerospace Industries’ ELTA Systems Group and Korean Air Lines in support of the Republic of Korea Air Force’s next generation of survivable, high-altitude airborne early warning and control aircraft.
