If asked at the dinner table, how would you describe what you do?

I support the business by ensuring programs are properly staffed and the engineers are following standard process. As an engineering manager (EM), I also get the opportunity to grow the department by hiring, training employees, and interacting with all disciplines and programs.

Why do you love what you do?

I love supporting our mechanical team because I get the opportunity to watch them grow their careers, and in some cases, help them obtain their career goals. I also enjoy supporting a department that delivers awesome products to our customer! The team we have is really great to work with and we all enjoy the work we do to help our customer be successful.

How did you get where you are in your career today, and who were mentors that helped along the way?

One piece of advice I have is to communicate with your group/EM and program lead where you would like to take your career so they can keep you in mind for future roles. You never know what opportunities may present themselves!

What do you like to do outside of work?

Before kids, I loved to scuba dive and travel. One of the coolest dives we did was a night dive with the manta rays in Hawaii! But with two young kids, the extent of my travel is to the park or the Brevard Zoo. I’m looking forward to more travel as a family once the kids are a bit older.
