The L3Harris-developed algorithms allow an overall Counter-UAS system to rapidly engage targets and reduce or eliminate EO/IR scene clutter that normally adds complexity and delays decision time for the operator. By reducing image clutter the systems are more effective and enable the algorithms, and warfighter, to focus on the inbound objects including UAS, mortars and rockets.
Detecting Drones
Utilizing inputs from various detection technologies including radar, optical radio, frequency and acoustics, UAS TRACER can alert the operator that a drone or many drones have encroached into a designated area.
Tracking Drones
Once a drone is detected, UAS TRACER tracks the path of the drone providing airspace situational awareness to the operator. UAS TRACER discriminates between drones and clutter which could be benign like a bird, or strategic, like friendly UAS.
Identifying Drones
Many organizations use drones in their daily operations. Utilizing a Machine Learning Operations Pipeline (MLOps), UAS TRACER is trained to identify specific drones within a scene as friend or foe, allowing authorized drones to continue functioning without interruption. UAS TRACER also identifies the specific type of threat (e.g. kinetic or surveillance) to influence the most effective defeat capability.
Types of Counter-UAS technologies
UAS TRACER enables kinetic and non-kinetic defeat technologies include jamming, directed energy engagement and kinetic mitigation. UAS TRACER is a key component in an end-to-end kill chain.
Counter-UAS Sensors
Sensors are designed to detect, identify and track UAS in real-time. UAS TRACER enables organizations to provide improved airspace situational awareness and take appropriate countermeasures to protect airspace, buildings, aircraft and the public.
UAS TRACER gathers information from various sensors, analyzes it and sends a signal to the defeat solution for an appropriate response. UAS TRACER is sensor and defeat technology agnostic, able to be integrated into a wide range of solutions.
