BRU-67 & BRU-68 – Bomb Release Units for F-35 Lightning II
L3Harris' efforts have focused on developing, building and demonstrating all the essential elements of pneumatic suspension and release equipment systems. These elements include the bomb rack, the pneumatic energy source and control system logic. We have devoted significant resources to developing such systems for use on advanced applications for the F-35 Lightning II.
BRU-75 & BRU-76 – Bomb Release Units for P-8 Poseidon
L3Harris' efforts have focused on developing, building and demonstrating all the essential elements of pneumatic suspension and release equipment systems. These elements include the bomb rack, the pneumatic energy source and control system logic. We have devoted significant resources to developing such systems for use on advanced applications for the P-8A Poseidon Multi-Mission Aircraft and MQ-9 Reaper.
BRU-71/A – Bomb Release Unit for MQ-9 Reaper
The L3Harris BRU-71/A is a newly developed 14-inch pneumatic bomb rack qualified for use on the MQ-9 Reaper. It has completed qualification testing, and units are presently being installed and flown in active service.
The BRU-71/A offers users significant benefits over previous generation bomb racks, including:
- Ease of loading via independent, self-latching hooks
- Pneumatic operation to eliminate pyrotechnic impulse cartridges and the resultant cleaning/maintenance actions
- Zero retention force arming units
- A high reliability pneumatic in-flight lock
SCORPION – Eject Release Unit (ERU) for UK F-35 Lightning II and other lightweight requirements
Scorpion is a compact, pneumatic ERU designed to safely carry and reliably eject air-to-ground stores, particularly from within the confines of a weapons bay. It can be powered from an external cold gas pneumatic generator or a preflight charged gas reservoir.
Scorpion has been incorporated into two-, three- and four-station carriers to allow multiple carriage of stores either under wing or in a weapons bay, depending on the store and configuration.
This ERU provides the high degree of weapon departure control essential for the safe ejection of small and/or miniature munitions from fast jet weapon bays, multiple store carriers and other high performance air platforms.
